Company History
Mast Safe was founded in 2006 as a result of the rapid
expansion in telecommunications base stations throughout
the UK during the last 10 years and the dramatic rise in
public concern over the health and safety issues related
to their sites next to houses, schools, playgrounds, and
other sensitive areas. Despite reassurances from the
mobile phone operators that their base stations are all
fully compliant with the current RF emission levels as
laid out by the governing body ICNIRP (the International
Committee for Non Ionising Radiation Protection), the
general public had no way of identifying and proving
whether or not this was the case.
Mast Safe identified that there was a need to provide
peace of mind to residents and the local community
located close to telecom masts by providing
certification confirming that the RF Levels emitting
from these masts were all compliant with the current
ICNIRP guidelines.
Mast Safe employs specialist technicians and the latest
RF testing equipment to provide worried and anxious
residents with a detailed certification which indicates
the levels of emission entering their residence, if
necessary, inside every room in a house. But Mast Safe
can also test emissions at the work place, in a
playground, in a school, nursery or shopping centre.
What we do:
1. Test that the emissions from mobile phone masts are
compliant with current ICNIRP guidelines.
2. Provide you with a certificate identifying where the
readings have been taken from and what the levels are as
a percentage of the guidelines
3. Write to any operator immediately should, in any
unlikely event, a mast have a RF reading above ICNIRP
guidelines.
What we don’t do:
1. We are not there to discuss the recognised safety
health limits associated with telecom masts. Scientists
have agreed to these limits.
2. We can only say whether a mast is safe in its
prescribed limits at its time of test.
